Beer Definitions

ABV

Alcohol by volume, the most common way of measuring the strength of a beer.


Hops

The seasoning and the preservative. Its bitter flavour balances the sweetness of the malt, while its aromatic oil gives flavour and aroma. Helps prevent the beer from spoiling and improves its foam stability.


Malt

The source of fermentable sugars, this grain is steeped in water and allowed to germinate. It is then kilned (roasted) to stop growing.


Yeast

The essential assistant. Converts sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide. Brewer’s yeast consists of two main types; ales and lagers.


Lager

Bottom fermented at cooler temperatures. This style of brewing was developed in the cold, mountainous areas of Germany.


Maibock

The maibock style is a helles lager brewed to bock strength, therefore still as strong as traditional bock, but lighter in colour and with more hop presence.


Pilsner

Gold to light amber colour and malty with a noticeable caramel accent and crisp bitterness. Medium hop flavour and aroma, and medium to full-bodied.


Ale

Top fermented at higher temperatures. Most ale styles originate with the brewing traditions of England, Ireland and Scotland.


Brown Ale

Sweet and dark. Brewed in Northern England.


Pale Ale

Malt is dried, rather than roasted, resulting in a lighter bronze or copper colour, and a lighter, less hearty flavour. Pale generally refers to the colour of the malt used in the brewing process.


India Pale Ale

A style of beer within the broader category of pale ale. Referred to in England before 1835 as “pale ale as prepared for India”. The nature of this strongly hopped beer benefited from the aging and conditions of the sea voyage. Often higher in alcohol content than many beers.


Bitter

British ales, usually bronze to deep copper in colour heavily hopped, giving them a high degree of hop’s bitterness.


Porter

A blend of pale ale and brown or stout. Highly roasted malt, less pronounced hops, slightly sweet. This style was developed in London in the early 1700’s. At one time it was extinct, but it has been revived in recent years.


Stout

Rich, malty flavour usually combined with a strong, bitter hops taste. Dark, almost black in colour due to the highly roasted malt.

10 ounces of Yuengling’s American lager along side a shot of Jagermeister, a German 70-proof, 35% ABV, digestif made with 56 herbs & spices


Saturday – Blackberry Cooler

Fresh mint, lemon & simple syrup with Bacardi limon & blackberry brandy over ice


Sunday – Bloody Brew

Vodka, Yuengling & Bloody Mary mix served over ice, in a salt rimmed glass, with a slice of house-made pickle

Bass Ale

“The original pale ale.” Considered an English Pale Ale, perfectly clear coppery color with a sweet aroma but with a sense of hops and malts. Starts with a bit of a hoppy bite, then you taste the malt, and finally a more mellow sweetness. There’s a nice bitterness to the finish with an agreeable, mild finish. 5.5% ABV


Blue Moon

This Belgian-style wheat ale is unfiltered for more depth of flavor and a unique, cloudy appearance. White wheat, oats, coriander and orange peel brewed to create this full flavor with a smooth finish. Best when garnished with a slice of orange, and this light, spicy, citrus taste goes great with chicken or seafood. 5.7% ABV


Guinness Stout

This famous Irish stout with black and dark brown highlights has aromas of toasted barley and coffee beans, with flavors of toffee and mocha. This creamy, full-bodied beer is incredibly smooth with just a hint of caramel and will satisfy from the first velvet sip to the last. Guinness goes great with everything, but it is especially delicious with any of our burgers, hanger steak, fish & chips, salmon or any dessert. 4.2% ABV


Tampa Bay Brewing Old Elephant Foot IPA

A traditional India Pale Ale. Highly hopped, medium-bodied ale. This is a true hop-head beer. Generous portions of Northern Brewer, Centennial and Cascade hops are used to import the intense hop character at 80 IBUs. 6.8% ABV


Stella Artois

Named “Stella” after the Latin word for star and first brewed in Belgium. This bottom-fermented pilsner pours to a clear pale golden color with a fairly clean, malty nose. Smooth on the palate, light in body with a light, but crisp bite, this brew is slightly fruity, refreshing and well balanced with a delicate but sharp hop bitterness and dryness. An ideal compliment with most food, but very nice with our lamb burger, or meatloaf. 5.2% ABV


Tucher Helles Hefeweizen

This German hefeweizen pours a clouded golden-orange hue with a vibrant white head, and an aroma of citrus with just a touch of clove. The flavor flows nicely with a mix of citrus, fruit, bread and sweetness with a light herbal hop background. Medium-bodied, smooth and extremely refreshing! A perfect compliment to our classic spinach salad, chopped salad or wild pan-seared salmon. 5.3% ABV


Yuengling

An iconic American lager famous for its rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor with roasted caramel malt for a subtle sweetness and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this true original delivers a well-balanced taste with very distinct character. Yuengling is the secret ingredient in our batter, so try it with fish & chips, the Atlantic cod sandwich, or always good with a burger. 4.4% ABV


SweetWater Brewing Company 420 Extra Pale Ale

SweetWater Brewing Company’s most popular brew, the 420 Extra Pale Ale is a tasty West Coast Style Pale Ale with a stimulating hop character and a crisp finish. Try one, or two, with our Billionaire Bacon, Hog Heaven sandwich, or Hot & Sassy pork loin. 5.4% ABV


Cigar City Jai Alai IPA

This locally brewed, award-winning, India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the ales sent from England to thirty British troops in India during the 18th Century. Pours copper in color with notes of citrus and tropical fruit in the aroma. Flavor has upfront citrus bitterness with a hint of caramel, citrus and tropical fruit hop notes in the finish. Pairs well with spicy dishes, beef and salmon. 7.5% ABV


Golden Monkey Belgian-Style Tripel

A magical, mystical Monkey whose golden soul glows with wisdom of the ages. This warming, flavored ale is rich in the spirited tradition of Belgian-inspired brewing. Golden Monkey is both playfully delightful and profoundly satisfying. Exotic spices from the east round out the global journey to joy, and pairs well with cheese and seafood. 9.5% ABV


Leffe Blond

The flagship of Leffe, this unique recipe is the fruit of centuries of experience in the art of brewing, which brings a broad palette of aromas into balance. It is elegant, smooth and fruity, and it has a spicy aftertaste with a hint of bitter orange. A thirst quenching apertif, but also fits excellently with a wide variety of dishes. 6.6% ABV


New Belgium Brewing Company Fat Tire

This amber ale out of Fort Collins, Colo., has a cult-like following that “pairs well with people.” Fat Tire won fans with its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness. Partners well with our wings and BBQ chicken sandwich. 5.2% ABV


Spaten Lager

The Spaten Brewery is one of Munich’s oldest and most well-known breweries. This classic German premium, bottom fermented Munchner Lager offers a supremely well-balanced hop flavor. Enjoy with mussels, any of our salads, pork or fish dishes. 5.2% ABV


Stella Artois Cidre

This crisp and refreshing European-style cider is made from hand-picked apples, with the taste of red apple and peach, apricot accents that complement the subtle flavor of orange, giving it a refreshing taste with a pleasing wood finish. Naturally gluten free, and compliments our musselsor salads. 4.5% ABV


Victory Brewing Company Golden Monkey Belgian-Style Tripel

New Belgium Snapshot

Snap! This unfiltered wheat beer is full of refreshment with aromas of citrus hops, the sweetness of coriander, grains of paradise, creamy texture and an unexpected flash of tart at the finish. Perfect compliment to eggs, cheeses, or dessert. 5.0% ABV


Ommegang Hennepin

This farmhouse-style Saison ale eis brewed with grains of paradise, coriander, ginger and sweet orange peel, and offers a champagne-like effervescence with a crisp start, followed by a malt sweetness with a bounty of great flavors. Complements spicy food. 7.7% ABV


Pilsner Urquell

The first pilsner in the world, brewed in Pilsen, Czech Republic, starts off earthy with a fresh bread aroma, then offers a subtle malty sweetness of caramel tones, closing with a pleasing bitterness from Czech Saaz hops. Great with shishito peppers, a burger, or our chicken 7 waffles. 4.4% ABV

This light-colored sparkling wine has aromas of apple and citrus. On the palate there are flavors of melon and pear. The finish is crisp.


Taittinger “Brut La Francaise”, Reims, France

91 points Wine Enthusiast: “A rich Champagne, beautifully elegant, touch by yellow fruits, apples and just the right amount of weight.” Hints of toast, spice and creamy coconut milk with a round, generous style. Everything is better with Champagne!


Maschio Prosecco Brut D.O.C. Treviso, Veneto, Italy

Embodies the finest traditions of Prosecco while accomodating modern, sophisticated tastes, produced using 100% of the ancient Glera grape. 11% alcohol by volume, light straw yellow in color with a lovely froth. Enjoy a bouquet of white peach and orange blossoms, followed with fruit forward flavors of peaches and a lovely, smooth almond finish. Absolutely wonderful with our marinaded olives, smoked salmon, or pan-seared wild salmon.


Allure Pink Moscato, California

The initial palate sensation is one of gentle lemon or lime flavor, which then develops into a more rounded, citrus fruit profile that has more than a hint of orange to it. Enjoy a glass with our cold, smoked, wild sockeye salmon!

Starts off with a touch of apple, a hint of tropical fruits and is complimented by a balance of vanilla and spice. Pairs well with our Atlantic cod, pan-seared salmon, and sweet potato fries.


MontGras Reserve, Chardonnay, Colchagua Valley, Chile

100% Chardonnay grapes, oak aged 8 to 12 months. Peach, pineapple and melon notes give this Chardonnay a refreshing and fruity approach. Pairs well with any of our chicken and seafood dishes.


Cupcake, Riesling, Germany

Light golden straw in color, this wine has aromas of freshly cut tropical fruit with a very slight blend of herbal and floral notes. The fruit flavors are expressive on the palate, initially with some sweetness that is quickly balanced with a mild acidity. Enjoy with Chef’s wild, pan-seared salmon, sauteed chicken, or simply as an aperitif.


Banfi LeRime, Pinot Grigio, Italy

Deep, rich color and explosive fruit. This wine offers aromas of black cherries, fresh strawberries and toasty oak. On the palate, there are layers of dark fruit intermingled with sweet vanilla and spice. Incredibly smooth and long, lingering finish. Morse Code, Shiraz, Australia

This is a fruit-driven wine with minimal oak to allow the fruit flavors and regional characters to be at the forefront. Fruit characters of blueberries and cherries with hints of liquorices, and touches of spice and pepper. The palate is rich and full with a nice depth of berry fruit, toasted spice and a touch of mint. The finish is soft and round, complimenting meat and cheese dishes.


Cakebread, Cabernet Sauvignon, California

Offers wonderfully fragrant, complex aromas of ripe blackberry and boysenberry fruit augmented by complementary scents of loam, spice-box, dark chocolate and toasty oak. Aged 18 months in french oak, this wine pairs perfectly with lamb, beef and chocolate.
