Update from the Nest

Friends, it’s time for an update from the nest. On March 20th we closed our doors, deciding not to offer take out until we had a better understanding of what was going on in the world. Although our doors have been closed, we’ve been working daily behind the scenes the last six weeks, once we caught our breath. Jack and I have spent countless hours researching, learning, contemplating, brainstorming, and soul searching, talking to one another, fellow restaurateurs and with our staff. Adjusting to the times, we partnered with Big Sea Design and Pineapple Development, building an ecommerce site, allowing you to order and pay on our website for contactless pickup. Our team members have spent hundreds of manpower hours cleaning, pressure washing, painting, staining, repairing, refurbishing and freshening the property in anticipation of your return. Finally, we decided to open on Friday, May 1st, for take out, with limited hours, limited menu items, and we were thrilled to see so many of you. Thank you for your clear show of love. Although we are legally permitted to open our doors for full service today, May 4th, we are holding off for a bit longer. We will continue to offer take out 4 to 10 pm today, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and encourage you to place your orders on our website at threebirdstavern.com. Our hope is to open our patios and porch, Friday, May 8th at 11:30 am following the guidelines implemented by the State of Florida. Three Birds Tavern offers more than 5,000 square feet of guest seating area with over 4,000 of those square feet outside. We’re fortunate. Our patios are spacious, and we’ll be seating guests at every other booth on our porch. Menu offerings will be slightly limited as we navigate through increased costs, and flow of business, but we’ll be open as many hours as we can, and maintain menu items the best we can. It’s all new, to all of us. We miss you. We want to spend time with you. But we have to be smart with every decision in order to survive long-term. These are challenging times for each of us, and we are accustomed to being here for you, and you being here for us, as we go through challenging times. So, let’s get back together. But let’s do it wisely. Our team will guide you through new procedures; seating limitations, including no seating at the bar, no parties more than 10, disposable menus, social distancing while waiting for a table, walking through the property and while using the restroom. Please be courteous with them while they do their job. Follow our social media pages for daily updates to this ever-changing situation; hours, specials, and so on. We thought that Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10th, would be the perfect day to reintroduce brunch, so mark your calendars. We’ll offer brunch from 11 am to 8 pm, with a FREE mimosa for all moms, and FREE dessert, our delicious, in-house made lemon berry bread pudding. Call 727-895-2049 for reservations. On behalf of my husband, and our team members, we thank you for your continued support and your patience as we move forward in new, necessary ways. We will be stronger and brighter on the other side of this.

Cheers,

Robin
